We Just Haven't Met You Yet....
Phil and I have officially made the decision to adopt a little girl!! We have one biological son Preston who has been anxiously awaiting a sibling since he could talk. We have decided on adoption for a few reasons. The main factor in our decision process is to provide a loving family for a child who may otherwise never have the love of a mother or a father. There are so many children in this world in need of loving homes and we have the opportunity to provide one.
Through the adoption process in Poland we are able to select our gender preference. To be able to complete our family with the addition of a little girl would be perfect!! I have created this blog for family and friends that would like to stay updated through our adoption journey as well as for those of you who may be adopting yourselves and want to share in our experiences, hopes, disappointments and excitement. The adoption path may be the road less traveled but the destination is still the same.
With our adoption journey, like with most everything we do in life, we will be applying the laws of attraction. It is 1/25/2010 today and our goal is to have our child home with us for Christmas of this year. We are officially on an 11 month countdown to the day.
We have chosen St Mary's International Adoption agency as our placement agency and although we are Catholic we have chosen Jewish Family Services out of Worcester, MA to do our home study. Both companies seem professional and experienced and our fate at this point lies in their hands. We have relinquished control. For those of you who really know me this was not an easy thing for me to do! And so the journey begins!
